Cooperation between AYT/OmniCom and SMART |
In June 2010, SMART has signed a cooperation agreement with the German-Turkish group of companies: AYT Grup Enerji AG / Tavsanli and OmniCom GmbH / Karlsruhe. Scope of the agreement is SMART's planning, design and delivery of autonomous BTS (base tranceiver station) power supply systems based on solar and wind.
As SMART's General Representative in Turkey and adjacent countries, the group will be responsible for the marketing, installation and after sales service, whereas SMART stands for the planning and technical specification of the power supply systems as well as for the delivery of the equipment.
A first solar powered BTS (nearby Ankara/ Central Anatolia) has been already planned and is scheduled for installation shortly. It is the common goal of the partners to realize more than 500 of such autonomous power supply systems for Turkey and neighbouring countries in the next five years. |

Cooperation SMART - KIDILIGHT/Vietnam |
In April 2010, Smart has signed a cooperation agreement with a Vietnamese group of companies: KIDILIGHT (Kimdinh International Group/ Hanoi) under the patronage of SOLALAB / Ho Chi Minh City . Scope of the agreement are SMART's off-grid BTS (base tranceiver station) power supply systems based on Renewable Energies.
For the installation of the power systems, KIDILIGHT will act as the General Contractor. SMART's scope will be planning, design and delivery of the systems..
The design of two off-grid BTS Power supply systems have been done already for stations in the Camau Province / South-Vietnam. Installation of the projects is foreseen in the second half of 2010.
Due to the rapidly rising numbers of mobile phone users in Vietnam, future agglomeration of BTSs, especially in grid remote areas, is inevitable. That's why KIDILIGHT is estimating a demand of more than 3000 of such power supply systems in a period of five years. |

Due to the heavy earthquake on Haiti and the total breakdown of Haiti's infrastructure for power and water supply, we have decided to supplement our product line by two special stand-alone power packages: Smart PV 3,5 Emergency and Smart MS 300 Emergency. These packages are easily and quickly to install without experts at any needed location.
The Smart PV 3,5 Emergency package (3.5kW AC power ouput, 740Wp solar and 200Ah/48V) is specially designed - for easy transportation and erection - as foldable system with pre-wired and pre-mounted electronics. Thus - after connection of the batteries and solar generators - immediate power availibility is guaranteed. This power package is mainly for emergency supply of schools, hospitals and hotels. In case more power is needed, several packages can be coupled to operate in parallel. The packages can also be connected to external power sources like the public grid or fuel generators.
The Smart MS 300 Emergency package is from our proven Smart "Plug and Play" product series. It's application is for 300W AC and 20A / 12V DC housing power supply like lighting, TV / Radio, fans and smaller appliances.
On request and in cooperation with our partner, UV Consulting Peschl e.K./ Mainz-Germany, we can equip additionally both Smart Emergency packages with UV water desinfection units. These units are directly connected with the AC sockets of our power systems and can thus decrease considerably the danger of epidemics caused by contaminated drinking water. If equipped with pre-treatment filters (Micro,Carbon filters) before the UV reactor, the purification system ensures the desinfection of river, sea and surface run-off water up to a flow rate of 30 litres per minute. |

Strategical Partnership between Smart and Solarlite |
In November 2009, Smart has signed a cooperation agreement with Solarlite GmbH/ Schloss Duckwitz for the marketing of Solarlite's innovative Solar Parabolic Trough systems (CSP).Besides the application for distributed power generation, the Solarlite system can be used for further multiple applications like Solar Air Conditioning, Sea Water Desalination and Industrial Process Heat.
Opposite to the conventional Solar parabolic trough, using a heat transfer fluid, such as oil, in the receiver pipe to produce in a second step steam, Solarlite's innovative technology is using water and produces thus the steam directly. This direct steam production is more efficient and less costly.

Our present battery generators will be replaced by new developed and improved SMART units in spring 2009.
The larger power systems are then supplemented by a new SMART 6000 (6000W / 48V). From the SMART 1000 on, all types will have standardized 19" housing dimensions and can so be either mounted on a SMART roller rack or put in corresponding standardized 19" mounting racks. Control instruments and monitoring displays have been extended and more clealy arranged. Furthermore a powerful 4-stage battery charger with interface for optional connection of an external temperatur sensor has been added to all SMARTS. For automatic start of generators or hooking up the Public Grid - in case the battery bank needs recharging - a special potential-free change-over contact has been built- in in all SMARTS, replacing the present auxiliary SMART ATS units. The DC power output can now be swiched from 12 to 24 volts. Adjustable load dedection during standby operation as well as adjustable limitation of the charging current during Grid/Generator operation are further features of the new Smarts.
Special highlight! With the new SMART units it will be possible - by means of an auxiliary SMART Sync Box - to couple two indentical SMARTS up to 12 kW / 1-phase and three identical SMARTS up to 18kW / 3-phase (400V).
Description and technical details of the new equipment will be available shortly. |

Stand-Alone power supply for Base Tranceiver Station (BTS) |
Since middle of 2008, we have extended our services also to the planning of autonomous power supply systems for BTSs. We are able to offer in this connection solar or solar/wind power supply systems.
Actually we are planning first projects located in Indonesia. On the island of Sulawesi/Indonesia, we have accepted a bid from our partner PT. Horizon for the power supply of BTS Pasawao. The erection of the project (Solar/Wind) is scheduled for end of September 2008, followed by a test run of 3 months. |
